Faced with the task of designing an enterprise app suite, I was brought in as the sole front-end developer — without access to functional requirements, backend constraints, or finalized designs. Despite the lack of clarity, I was expected to deliver a consistent, intuitive user experience across multiple applications.
The work kicked off in heavy ambiguity—tight timelines, high visibility, and missing inputs created these immediate obstacles:
Rather than wait or chase after for clarity that wasn’t coming, I took proactive steps to create alignment and scale from the ground up:
The outcome was a unified, accessible UI across the suite and a reusable component foundation that replaced one-off builds. Teams shipped faster with fewer handoffs, onboarding got simpler, and the style guide became the shared source of truth for future features and apps.
